The First Annual Texas/Oklahoma Red River BBQ Shootout bringing top bbq Texas and Oklahoma pitmasters to Dallas for a competition for the best pork ribs and winning a $1,000 prize and bragging rights
Eight pitmasters from Texas and Oklahoma compete to represent their state and will cook their winning recipes up all day on Friday, October 7, to be sold at The Texas/OK Red River Barbecue Shootout Celebration in Main Street Garden from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Ultimate Champion Winning Pitmaster will be determined by a People's Choice vote among the 2,000-plus attendees expected at the event. Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings will announce the ultimate pitmaster for a $1,000 cash prize and bragging rights.
5:30 a.m. - 8 a.m. PUBLIC EVENT: Pre-dawn Shootout Pep Rally at Main Street Garden
as Winning Oklahoma and Texas finalists begin EARLY cooking for a crowd of 2,000-plus for the People's Choice Contest
