My son, Matthew was chosen this past year to attend the Kidd's Kids trip to DisneyWorld. The entire family had a remarkable time, as this was our first trip to Disney. I always wondered how and why we were chosen. I knew exactly what Matt had endured this past year after he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma a year ago in January and knew that he was a perfect choice. What I didn't know was that this was going to be our last trip together as a family. Two months after our trip, Matthew passed away.…

We all say thank you to the station and to the staff and to KIDD and the donors and volunteers. Just wanted to say that I can't over look Derrick again. He is putting it all together behind the scenes and does a lot of work to get us all to Disney and back. The kids are still playing with their Disney stuff and talking about the trip! The Disney Dollars given to us daily make it possible for the goodies to come home! Thank you to everyone that has a hand in the behind the scenes preperation, to…

Just wondering if anyone else here has what my daughter has. I wished I could of talked to more moms but it is hard to go up and ask what chronic or fatal disease does your kid have to a stranger. Just wondered if anyone on Kidds Kids website has it.

I have been in TX for almost 8 years now and have not been able to find a morning radio station that I liked enough to commit to on a daily basis, even my days off! But my reason for posting is to tell you that I am now officially a DEDICATED listener. I hold you and the Kidd morning crew up on a pedestal for your commitment to children and their families. I was beside myself with the parents and siblings i heard on the radio while you were at Disney World. I cried all my way to work and even wa…

I originally wrote this as a blog on Myspace. I feel like I need to share it here also.
I've been laying in bed trying to sleep. Something just kept weighing on me, on my heart. I feel like I need to put it out here for everyone.
It's amazing how one simple sentence can alter your entire life. You are going through your life.... going to work, helping the kids with their homework, trying to pay bills and looking for the best grocery deals. Then suddenly, in one moment, with one sentence, every…

A little something I blogged on Myspace quite a while ago, before Kyle's donor had been found and locked in.
Here I sit, in my son's room while he's sleeping in his favorite spot... the couch. It's almost 1 am, we're getting up early to go the drive at Pikeville College (Kyle wants to go) and I can't sleep. I lay down, my body's exhausted, but my mind just keeps on going.
I am amazed by how the last 3 months have changed my life. One day, you're going to work, grocery shopping, cooking, clean…
