Hunter Garza and his family received some great news Oct. 1.

He was selected to be part of this year’s “Kidd’s Kids,” an organization founded by Kidd Kraddick, a nationally syndicated radio host. The program takes children with special needs and rare diseases to meet in Disney World.

MY TWO BIGGEST FLAWS...

My two biggest flaws are lack of patience and lack of appreciation for the moment. This is not something I decided…it’s been confirmed by most of my friends, all of my co-workers, an ex-wife, and four therapists.

I don’t like waiting for stuff or for things to happen. I’m convinced that If there was a place you could go and instantly be given total happiness and spiritual fulfillment, I would be the one going, “Ummm, how long is the line?” Let’s come back another time.

Thank you so much for choosing my son and our family to attend this yrs trip..My kids are climbing the walls with anticipation!! My sons name is Jason Rieger and directly after the trip he has to have surgery to repair his legs..He has to have 1 shortened about 3 inches and is gonna be a very hard time for him and they are also going to try to repair his hips..His knees turn out instead of forward..Thank you so much for the chance for us to do something so special togather before this surgery that we would never in a million years be able to afford..We still cant believe its real and that we are going to Disney World !!!

Hi Kidd - As a follow-up success story of a Kidd's Kid from 2000, Trae Smith. You still occaisionally use the interview with his Mom - Melonie when promoting upcoming Kidd's Kids events. Trae Smith is now Trae Caster and has a brother and two sisters. He has a Texas Law named after him, "Trae's Law". He is fully included in General Ed classrooms at HEB ISD and is now a Sophomore at Trinity High School. This Labor Day, he will step on the field at the new Dallas Cowboy Stadium, with his Snare Drum and perform as part of the first High School Band to play in this new venue. A tremendous Success story for a child with Traumatic Brain Injuries at the result of abuse. If you were to re-interview his Mom today, she would tell everyone that their whole world turned around after the blessing of the Kidd's Kids Trip.

Hey Kidd,, Keisha talks about the trip all the time. I have never seen her laugh so much before, this trip was beyond amazing & I hope to see that smile & sparkle on her face again. I founded Kidd's Kids in 1991 with the hope of making a difference in the lives of terminally and chronically ill children. Each year, Kidd's Kids offers five amazing days of suspended reality to children whose lives have been ravaged by disease. Kidd's Kids children and their families are given the chance to experience the exuberance of being "normal." That is the gift that you and I can offer by supporting the Kidd's Kids organization.
