Caroline Cradick named new Executive Director; Davis promoted; Brown moves on after 10 years
DALLAS (Jan. 20, 2015) – The Board of Directors of The Kraddick Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization best known for its Kidd’s Kids program, today announced important changes to its staff leadership.
Caroline Cradick, daughter of the lateDavid “Kidd” Kraddick, the legendary morning show personality, will become the foundation’s new Executive Director, effective immediately. Cradick takes over for Derrick Brown, who has led the foundation since 2004, a period marked by tremendous growth in the charity’s life-changing work and the untimely death of its visionary founder.
“Aside from my dad, nobody has been more instrumental to the success of Kidd’s Kids than Derrick over the last 10 years,” said Cradick. “And since my dad left us, Derrick has been an absolute rock. He’s leaving very big shoes for me to fill, but he’s also leaving the foundation in superb financial and operational shape. And I’m comforted in knowing that he’s always just a phone call away whenever I need him.”
Brown relocated to New York City in late 2012 and founded The Brown Agency, a consulting firm. He also serves as Executive Director of National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce New York (NGLCCNY), an organization dedicated to certifying LGBT-owned businesses and to the economic vitality of LGBT and allied businesses in the New York Metro area. He will continue to work as a consultant to The Kraddick Foundation throughout 2015.
“I’ve loved every minute of my time working on Kidd’s Kids and The Glamour Squad, and consider it an honor to have been a friend and trusted colleague of the great Kidd Kraddick,” said Brown. “It was important to me to see the foundation through the last two years of transition, and now it’s time for me to focus my energies on my new passion. Kidd always wanted Caroline to take over the foundation when it was time; and though that time came sooner than any of us expected, I’m so proud that she is stepping up to the challenge. I’m looking forward to helping Caroline in any way I can, and will be watching from afar as the foundation continues to make a difference in the lives of so many beautiful children with special medical needs.”
The board also announced that Lyndsay Davis has been promoted to Director of Operations for the foundation. Davis has managed the day-to-day operations of the organization since 2010, reporting to Brown.
“I can’t imagine taking on this new role without having Lyndsay here to keep the trains running on time,” said Cradick. “Lyndsay likes to fly under the radar, but those who really know the foundation understand the vital role she plays in virtually everything we do. The Kidd’s Kids Trip wouldn’t happen without her, and nobody is more deserving of a promotion than the lovely and talented Lyndsay Davis.”
