How Does Someone Get Invited to be a Kidd's Kid?
I have a close family friend who was just diagnosed today with a serious illness that is very rare.
Gorham's Disease. Taylor is a 12 year old angel who will have to undergo several more spinal surgeries and multiple rounds of chemo and treatments.
My first and immediate thought was Kidd’s Kids. I am an annual supporter and prayed that I would never refer anyone to you.
Now, sadly I have someone dear to me that would greatly benefit from this trip. I am unsure of the process or timing. Taylor will be going through this process for years to come, so if I have missed the cut off for this year, I would like to get her considered for next year.
If anyone can tell me what to do, it would be greatly appreciated! God Bless.

I'm sorry to hear about Taylor. I'm curious also how they decide the who they select to go. I guess I will attempt to complete an application this up coming year.

I am so sorry to hear about your friends child. It is heartbreaking. What they have to do is fill out an application and submit it with all the required paperwork. The child has to be between 5 and 12 at the time of the trip. Unfortunatly, this years trip is to late bo they can apply for next years.
I would also consider having the family apply for make a wish, especially if time is of the essence.

My daughter (12) also has a closely related disease please let your friend know she can contact me if she would like. With such a rare disease it is important to be able to find others to talk to. She can friend me on Facebook Elizabeth Mantey and just message her daughter has Gohrams. Or find more information at www.LGDalliance.org.

The application process starts every summer, in June or July, you can get a application by regular mail or email. Just contact Derrick when they start, then they choose the families for the trip and contact everyone in late September. My daughter went in 2008 and she had a wonderful time, it's the best experience you could ever ask for. Our thoughts & prayers will be with Taylor, and I hope see gets to go...
